Many people think that when it comes to pain relief, the only options available to them are prescription medicines or over-the-counter drugs. What if we told you that you could also use natural supplements to relieve pain? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a natural supplement to deal with pain in any part of your body? The article below describes a list of the top natural painkillers that are easily available and produced in large quantities by Mother Nature.

1. Chamomile

It is a ground apple that can be administered in two ways: essential oil and chamomile tea. Chamomile has both antibiotic and antiseptic properties. It is applied topically to relieve pain such as headaches, muscular pain, and joint pain. It is consumed for general relaxation as well. Bitter chamomile is an aromatic herb that has chemical constituents like essential oil, which includes farnesene, chamazulene, bisabolol, and falvonoids, plant acids and several other biochemical compounds. These ingredients are well known for their potential anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and pain-relieving properties.

The flowers of this plant are compressed in order to extract oil, which is widely used as an essential oil. This oil relieves inflammation and pain when you mix a few drops of it with a carrier oil, for example, coconut oil or olive oil, and then gently massage the affected spot on the body. If you do this 2 to 3 times a day for a few days, it helps relieve pain associated with sciatica.

2. Garlic

It has beneficial effects on the heart and is well known for that. It plays a crucial role in regulating cholesterol and blood pressure. However, the pain-relieving aspect of garlic is not well explored. It has anti-inflammatory properties and has been proven to be effective for sciatica pain.

To experience the benefits of garlic, you should take one or two garlic cloves with warm water or milk during the early morning hours. It then goes a long way toward addressing pain in the body. It is important to consider that garlic has a very strong odor and pungent taste. This could be the reason for not intake of garlic.

3. Indian Aloe Vera

Indian aloe vera has several health advantages. These benefits range from hair care and skin care to digestion and weight loss. Indian aloe vera is rich in a chemical constituent called glycosides, for example, aloin. Aloin has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. These properties help in providing relief from pain while also reducing the risk of inflammation at the same time.

Aloe vera is available commercially in powder or gel form. It is known to contain medicinal properties. You can take aloe vera gel, powder, or pulp. And mix it with one to two pinches of turmeric. It should be applied directly to the affected area one or two times a day. It is well known to relieve symptoms of sciatica effectively.

4. Turmeric

It is a very popular herbal spice that is used in India and certain Asian countries.

It is used in dishes such as curry. Researchers have found that turmeric possesses anti-septic, antioxidant, and antibiotic properties. Researchers have found turmeric to be more than three times effective than common pain relief medicines like ibuprofen and aspirin. Topical application of turmeric to the wound acts like an antiseptic agent. The active constituent of turmeric is curcumin. Curcumin interferes with the effect of any enzyme on the production of pain-producing hormones.

Adding about 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric to rice or gravy regularly can help reduce pain from fibromyalgia and arthritis. Additionally, it aids in alleviating flu-induced congestion.

5. Clove oil

One of the best herbal supplements for treating toothaches and gum inflammation is clove oil. It also helps relieve nausea. Chewing a clove for toothache or placing it in the mouth for nausea alleviates these symptoms. Topical application of clove results in effective treatment against fungal infections.

The chemical constituent present in clove oil is eugenol. It is a natural blood thinner and has been proven to be protective against cardiovascular diseases. It does so by inhibiting abnormal blood clotting phenomena.

6. Ginger

Ginger is a root herb used as a flavor in food items and is known to reduce joint and muscular pain. The phytochemicals that are present in ginger help in the prevention, production, and release of hormones that trigger pain. It helps in the reduction of inflammation and is thus related to pain as well. Ginger has also been used to relieve nausea as well as treat morning sickness.

It can be used as dry ginger or can be freshly chopped and used in curry. It is also added to tea in order to increase flavor.

7. Nutmeg

Nutmeg is well-known for its excellent flavor and taste. It's a very popular Indian spice. It helps to induce sleep and relax the muscles. The chemical constituents of nutmeg include a rich source of saponins and essential oils. This essential oil is known as myristicin. It helps to relieve neuralgia, rheumatic pain, and sciatica pain. It helps in the release of inflammatory mediators and causes a blockage of pain-causing chemicals. It helps in providing effective relief to people suffering from pain or inflammatory conditions such as sciatica.

For relief from pain, you should take coarsely powdered nutmeg fried in sesame oil till it all turns completely brown in color. This oil can then be topically applied to relieve severe pain. An alternative method could be that you can take 2 to 5 drops of nutmeg oil and mix it thoroughly with sesame or coconut oil. The mixture thus obtained can be used to gently massage the affected area one or two times a day in order to manage joint pain.

8. Valerian root

It is rich in muscle relaxation properties and provides relief from pain. It is a rich source of volatile oil, which helps relieve chronic muscular and nerve pain. The properties of the Valerian root are the reason behind the relief from pain. You can take valerian as a supplement three times a day for a week. Another method could be that you can opt for Valerian tea in order to steep 1/4 to a ½ teaspoon of Valerian root in water. You can strain the water. You may also choose to add honey to water to make it more palatable.

In conclusion, the above methods can act as home remedies to relieve pain. However, if these herbs fail to improve the condition of pain or inflammation in your body, or if you have any such symptom like swelling of the leg, you must consult a doctor without fail. You should follow the doctor's advice for quick and effective results.
